As the ancient wisdom is revealed, Jack is increasingly disturbed by his volatile pupil and turns to the mysterious Siobhan for advice. Who is she? What is she? The eternal truths of existence are played out at every level.

The story is a modern parable in the form of a novel. The imagery the author spoke of in his YouTube video, of a train running through the landscape of my soul, me boarding and making my way to the engine, is so powerful... that's when I knew I had to read this book. Although I saw the plot twist and ending coming from early in the story, that's probably more a sign of how the story resonated with me than any criticism of the writer. And indeed I had several instances where I got the feeling the story was being written as I was reading it, with examples taken from my own life. The story is well written and moves at a consistent pace, very hard to put down, and I look forward to reading more from this author on the subject.Product details

Awesome read!
Finding the field is an interesting story that serves as a vehicle for a life philosophy where we create our own lives and take responsibility for how it turns out. Unfortunately the story spent too much time being clever with its plot twists, and not enough time illustrating the more positive aspects of the philosophy. It is in fact a very bleak and negative story much of the time, although I understand this is in an attempt to set the context for the old man explaining the field and the secrets to life. Its clever, but I suspect it will appeal more to the "converted" than to someone not so well acquainted to Brown's philosophy. There are also some important details at the start that one needs to pick up on, if the rest of the book is to make sense. I initially found the overly flowery and descriptive manner of writing a bit off putting at first, though I later warmed to it. There is a major twist at the end of the story, but what left me somewhat disappointed was that there was really very little impression that the old man had lived a wonderful, happy, and fulfilling life that ended with great satisfaction as a result of his life "knowledge". That should have been the point of the book, but seemed to have got lost in the desire to be too clever with the plot.
Great book with some very interesting perspective on lifes major questions wrapped in a captivating story. I would recommend this book to anyone.
'Finding the Field' is the academics version of 'The Celestine Prophecy'.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and went onto recommend it to my local Book Discussion Book and ordered 10 more copies.
The author, Michael Brown, was pure enjoyment to read as he didn't 'dumb down' for his readers, as many authors will do. I found myself using my dictionary and really enjoyed discovering a higher vocabulary.
A completely enjoyable read and my newest 'favourite book'!
Well done, Michael Brown! Keep them coming.

Unique writing style. Had to look up a lot of the words in my dictionary. Keeps you thinking.
When spiritual authors go out of there way to take shots at a political side they dislike and the book is supposed to be "spiritual"I know I'm dealing with a fraud. Honestly makes me mad as hell. This is anti conservative bs. This guy is honestly in need of help from a therapist.
I really enjoyed reading this book. It was worth far more than the US$5.00 I paid for the edition. Michael Brown has an amazing world view and I greatly appreciate him taking the time to share it. If you like metaphysical/spiritual books and you are on the fence about getting this one, I highly recommend it. It's good stuff!
